American Psychological Association defines anxiety as the emotion characterized by feelings of tension, worried thoughts and physical changes. Anxiety can also be described as a persistent fear and worry projected to the future.
Since the origin of anxiety is fear, and fear is an emotion, anxiety must be handled from a holistic perspective that will include identification of triggers, irrational thoughts and the inner critic voice, in addition to emotional management and the reinforcement of resilience and self-esteem.
